On Tuesday, September 14th, I will be playing 100 Holes of Golf at Hidden Glen at Bentdale Farms in support of Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation and The First Tee of Southeast Wisconsin, and I need your help to reach my fundraising goal of $3,500. Let's see how much we can raise for two great organizations.
I am in my 18th year with the WPGA Junior Foundation as the Director of Junior Golf. We administer over 100 tournaments each year for juniors ages 8-21. I have seen many kids come through our program and grow as a player, and more importantly grow as a person. My goal is to help both the WPGA Junior Foundation and The First Tee of Southeast Wisconsin raise funds towards scholarships and programming. This year, the WPGA Junior Foundation awarded thirty two scholarships totaling $40,000 to high school seniors and college students. I see firsthand the importance of these programs during our busy summer months.
The WPGA Junior Foundation's mission is to promote the game of golf by providing positive opportunities, enjoyment, and education to Wisconsin junior golfers and their families. We accomplish this through our tournament series and player development programs whereby allowing us to provide scholarships and grants to deserving participants.
I hope you will help me in impacting the lives of young people through the game of golf. Please consider donating per hole or a flat amount. Every contribution helps!
Character is what you bring to everything you do. It’s what signifies to the world what’s inside of you. It outlasts genius and talent yet propels both. It’s what we are admired for and remembered by. It’s what transforms piercing words to inspire you forward rather than tear you down. And it’s what allows you to walk away from failure determined, not defeated.
But we aren’t born with it. Character is learned, cultivated and shaped by our experiences. In a world where social pressures are always on, where calm and confidence are hard to access, and where perseverance is a required superpower every day, our kids are growing in new environments that are demanding more from them, and therefore more from us.
First Tee builds experiences that build character. Experiences are our greatest teacher. We believe in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next.
What is 100 Holes of Golf?
100 Holes of Golf is a golf marathon hosted by First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin. Players will play from sun-up to sun-down 100 holes on Sunday, September 12, at Hansen Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa or on Tuesday, September 14, at Hidden Glen at Bentdale Farms in Cedarburg. Each player commits to raising funds to support the mission of First Tee — Southeast Wisconsin, to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
Why support 100 Holes of Golf?
Our youth development program is like no other. As we continue to expand our programming throughout our nine-county region (Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha), we need additional funds so we equip kids who may not otherwise have access to the game of golf with the confidence, integrity, respect, and perseverance the game inherently promotes. First Tee programming allows kids to accomplish their dreams, thrive socially, excel academically and athletically, and become productive members of their families and society with integrity, strong values and commitment to community. Funds raised through the 100 Holes of Golf support additional green-grass program locations, equipment and training for the National School Program and DRIVE programming at local youth centers.
