2022 Legacy Award recipient - Mr. Robert H. Chappel

Mr. Robert H. Chappel spent 33 years educating students. We are lucky that his path led him to the Wilson School District in 1988. He started as an elementary K-6 teacher. After two years, and with the encouragement and support of his art teacher colleagues, he began teaching at Wilson High School (1990-2010). Some of Mr. Chappel's proudest accomplishments in the Wilson School District include expanding the art program at the high school (as art department chairman for a number of years), being one of four founding members of the senior-level Humanities course (1996-2010), and creating Grandview Gallery (2001-present). He is loved by many and has certainly left a legacy at Wilson!
