Story
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Basically, it is a disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves.
Extensive research is being done to pinpoint the exact cause of MS, in order to prevent for future generations, as well as eventually find a cure for this devastating disease.
WIUFMS is a Service Organization planning a yearly 'extreme obstacle race' held on campus with proceeds going to The National MS Society. Our main objective is to work with our community on raising awareness and fundraising for a great cause.
We intend to raise as much awareness and money as possible to donate directly to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Let us challenge ourselves in this insane obstacle course; though they will be nothing like the challenges that sufferers of MS face on a daily basis.
Join in the Fight Against MS on March 25, 2017, where individuals will be competing in the first extreme obstacle course that Macomb has ever seen! Obstacles will include, but are not limited to: a wall climb, a net climb, a tire flip, monkey bars, an army crawl, and so much more.
