Dessert Social on the Lawn: A Fundraiser for the Asylum Seekers Housing Network (ASHN)
Sunday from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT
Join us on Sept 19, 2-5pm, for desserts and drinks on the lawn of North Baltimore Mennonite Church, the ASHN Art Bazaar featuring handmade arts from Baltimore and around the world, and special musical guest ensemble: the amazing Alexis Tantau and the Hot Club of Baltimore! ASHN supports asylum seekers as they transition to self sufficiency. We provide a foundation of housing and social support as asylum seekers develop new lives and support their families in this country.
ASHN provides long-term housing for asylum seekers in an intentional community house - the Reservoir Hill House of Peace (RHHP).
Residents of RHHP include Mennonite and Brethren volunteers and others committed to intentional community living. ASHN clients are expected to actively involve themselves in this dynamic community.
ASHN partners with the The Asylee Women Enterprise (AWE) for referrals and client case work, including legal support, mental health and physical health referrals, language classes, and other independence-oriented services. AWE provide services to women, men and families. If you or someone you know requires asylum services, please contact AWE today.
ASHN was created and continues to be managed by a group of dedicated volunteers who make up the ASHN Steering Committee, which oversees planning and finances.
