As an immigrant of this country at the tender age of 5 years old from Haiti; the values, mission and vision of Aspire! are those that resonate at a personal level for me. I can remember the feeling of insecurity as a young child due to not knowing the language of a new country and navigating a new environment altogether. Yet, programs similar to Aspire! got me through those tender years and for that main reason the need to give back to similar vulnerable populations and programs is imperative to me.
Since obtaining a great base during those critical years, I navigated a public school system and state university system that afforded me both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accountancy and a Certified Public Accountancy license. Organizations like Aspire! truly provide lasting value and I am proud to celebrate Aspire! at their first virtual fundraiser!
Thursday, October 22 @ 7:00 PM
Thank you for making our first virtual fundraiser such a success! WATCH THE REPLAY BELOW! There is still time to give through October 29th as every donation supports our school day program, providing in-person distance learning support, tutoring, and enrichment. It costs Aspire! $5,400 each day to implement this program for 100 students with social distancing and other health protocols in place. There is currently no public funding support for this kind of effort in Arlington; we are relying 100% on private funding to implement this critical program.
Thank you to everyone who came together to celebrate the most important year of Aspire! yet, and the many accomplishments of our students and programs. Your support has made such a difference and you helped us reach our match goal. If you missed the event there is still time to give and you can watch the full event replay.
This year, Aspire!'s students face additional challenges as a result of distance learning, including inconsistent internet access, keeping up with homework and feelings of isolation. While all students risk falling behind with schools moving to virtual learning, a recent study estimates students of color could face 7 to 10 months of additional learning loss This places students of color at a significant disadvantage and only widens the achievement gap. Aspire! is innovating to provide in-person and online programming this fall, to ensure our kids don't fall further behind. We need your support more than ever!

Helping students unMASK their potential – that’s the mission of Aspire!. As Arlington’s only accessible academic afterschool program for at-risk families, Aspire! provides critical support to students who otherwise may not receive it. With schools currently closed, the need has never been greater for the more than 1,000+ at-risk students that we serve through our online and in-person programs.
Full-time distance learning poses disproportionate challenges for our families as 70% have experienced recent job loss and inconsistent internet and computer access.
Aspire! provides both in-person and online programs that include:
reading and math support;
homework and online learning assistance; and
social-emotional activities and support.
Aspire! is working to find solutions that support our families while parents return to work.
