Support the Arts at ASE!
Aspire Stockton Elementary is a great new school! We’ve accomplished many things in our first 6 months. Students have had their first Celebration of Learning, where each presented his/her design of toy for a friend. They have contributed to a whole school mural, and are working toward their second Celebration of Learning. Our own Kelly Vue’s art was selected for the Share the Love campaign.
We’re so every proud of the student art produced with Mr. Swanson our fabulous art teacher. As a culminating activity, We’ll hold a student art show on May 10th.
I am writing to ask for help in making our second year even better than the first. In distance learning we’ve used an array of materials but enriching our art program by expanding the mediums students use including canvas, acrylic paints and sculpting clay would be amazing. Here are a few art pieces influenced by Jim Dine and are part of our school mural.
Some might ask why emphasize the arts in elementary school. Art helps children understand other subjects much more clearly—from math and science, to language arts and geography. Art nurtures inventiveness as it engages children in a process that aids in the development of self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation.
I believe our students deserve an educational program that rivals those districts ranked best in the state. Anything you can donate to reach our $10,000 goal would be greatly appreciated!
