It's hard to capture in words the truly amazing person that Meghan was to everyone. Everything that I start to write sounds trite, so bear with me.
Meghan was my best friend - and she was a best friend to many. When I think about my best friend's remarkable qualities, her kindness & empathy for others are the ones that stand out the most. High school can be a cruel time for teenagers - self-doubt, bullying, peer pressure, cliques, insecurities - but Meghan never let any of that affect how she treated people. She was kind to all, and in reflection now, I realize how comfortable she was with herself, mature beyond her years. And that modest self-confidence, her kindness, is what made her so loved by many.
Meghan's second standout quality was her competitiveness - and that's a quality that I KNOW that she shares with MANY members of the Class of 1996. We may be the only class to ever come together and win Spirit Week four years in a row! (We made a bobsled!?!?)
So, I'm now asking for your help in maintaining her legacy and memory at Prout with this new field – and I'm hoping we can come together once more to accomplish our class fundraising goal for Meghan & her field.
