In absence of our annual in-person Bids For Kids gala, which is normally held Mid-October, we are launching Bresee’s Invest in LA’s Future Campaign. Our call to action is simple. Make a meaningful contribution towards Bresee’s work between now and December 31st and double your impact. Your gift will be matched by a group of donors, up to $75,000. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to continue our nearly 40-year tradition of investing in LA’s next generation of young people.

We always say at Bresee, that when a family is in crisis, a youth is in crisis. Since the pandemic started for us here in Los Angeles, we’ve seen more families facing major crises than ever before. Heads of households already at the federal poverty guideline, who lost hours at work or their jobs completely, dealing with food insecurity, months arrears in rent, and lacking the basic technology to ensure their children continue to learn. These challenges have been increasingly compounded by central LA’s high population density, and one of the highest rates of COVID infection and mortality in LA County.

Your partnership will help our youth and families with the three biggest current basic needs over the next 6 months including:

Food - Thanksgiving and Christmas food distribution for over 1,000 families
Rental Assistance - providing an additional $350k in emergency rental assistance
Education - virtual tutoring for over 200 students and over $70k in college scholarships for our 50 alumni.
