For the second year in a row, in lieu of our annual in-person Bids for Kids gala, we're launching our fall fundraising campaign. Our call to action is simple. Make a meaningful contribution towards Bresee’s work between now and December 31st and double your impact. Your gift will again be matched by a group of donors, up to $100,000. Our goal is to raise $200,000 to continue our nearly 40-year tradition of investing in LA’s next generation of young people.

With your support, we got through the height of the pandemic. Despite the fact that Bresee has been on the front lines of helping to stabilize over 9,000 low-income youth and families with emergency support in Los Angeles since the Pandemic began, the need is still great. Our agency has dispersed over $6 million dollars in direct resources for basic needs, including food, emergency rental assistance, laptops for virtual education, and vaccines, yet we still understand that there is a wave of need.

Low-income families face a tougher road to recovery due to the existence of stressors that are already present in lower economic households. Focusing efforts on educational support for students who fell behind with virtual learning, reintegrating students to in-person instruction and enrichment, addressing the impact on social and emotional wellness that stay-at-home orders effected, and helping families who have slowly gone back to work catch up on months of being unemployed, facing food insecurity, and fears as rental moratoriums come to an end, is our goal.

For 39 years, Bresee has been the beacon of hope in the Central Los Angeles community. With partners like you, we have battled poverty, empowered the community through education, provided relationships & resources, and served with love to everyone who has walked through our doors.
