I was lucky enough to join Creature Comfort Pet Therapy in February 2020 as an event manager. One of the biggest impacts I saw right away was that CCPT was inundated by pet therapy requests, on average they would achieve 8-14 therapy visits a DAY! There were future plans and dreams of working on the infrastructure within CCPT to evolve this ever growing organization - if there was ever a break...
And then COVID-19 came to all of our doorsteps and the world stood still. CCPT quickly worked behind the scenes to prepare for the situation unfolding around us, we could not enter the rooms with people that needed us the most, we couldn’t bring calming comfort to people nursing homes, hospitals, schools and we had to do the same difficult task that many were asked to do - stay home.
As difficult as it was being "fur"loughed from doing our core mission, what happened next was pretty impressive for a small non-profit org. The staff now had the bandwidth to research and make a final decision on much needed CRM software, we were able to upgrade our email software and process, survey and improve our onboarding procedures and determine what the next would be for all of us at CCPT when the world opens up again.
Our loss of income during these months has been significant and funds raised from this event are critical and we want to continue to prepare, plan and be at the ready to help those frontline heroes and so many others who are feeling more anxious, lonely and stressed than ever before.
We need your support.
