I had always wanted to be part of a therapy team - bringing a pet to schools, hospitals and nursing homes to provide comfort and joy. In Sadie, I found my teammate. With encouragement from Lisa Plocinski and On The Ball Dog Training, Sadie and I prepared for the test and earned our certification with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy in 2019.
We've visited elementary schools, colleges, Morristown Medical Center, Carrier Clinic, public libraries, rehab centers, nursing homes, the infusion center at Summit Medical Center and even Newark Airport - each visit is so different but the one constant is the gratitude from those we touch, whether they're pre-schoolers at the local library or nonagenarians we've met in nursing homes or the nurses and staff at SMG where the security guard greets Sadie by name each time we walk through the door.
While COVID caused CCPT to cancel their annual gala, the requests for therapeutic visits keep coming. They've been able to provide some organizations with virtual visits and are planning for the day we can start meeting people in-person again.
Sadie and I are hoping you can help us help CCPT by donating to our team for the Furry Scurry Fundraiser!
