EVkids is a remarkable youth service program for Boston students from the Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods of Boston. Boston elementary, middle and high school students are tutored 1 to 1 with their peers from colleges throughout the Boston area, colleges like Harvard, Boston College and Northeastern to name a few. These tutoring pairs work together over multiple years to set and achieve academic goals which lead to high school graduation and entrance into and their completion of college. This program is exemplary and builds on a model of community building to enhance the overall experience of the tutees and their tutors. EVkids also runs a family-style summer camp in Vermont, a remarkable get-away adventure for these city youth to discover the rural countryside of Vermont while building new friendships and learning new skills for their years ahead while still growing in middle and high school. Please consider making a donation to this life changing program for Boston City youth and their college-aged peers. Thank you!

Thanks to you, the 2023 Expanding Horizons Gala smashed right through its goal and raised over $240,000 for EVkids! You help tutees, campers, and College Success mentees launch towards their goals. Thank you!
The Gala was once again hosted by Latoyia Edwards, an Emmy award-winning anchor for NBC Boston, a Dorchester native, and a proud graduate of EVkids. We also honored this year’s Youth Champion, Dr. Rajani LaRocca, Newbery Honor-Winning children's book author, and Alumni Service Award Winner Miguel Perez-Luna, Sustainability Engagement Planner, City of Cambridge, EVkids Board member and Tutor alum (Harvard '15).
