Chris and I are originally from central New York, and moved our family to Saranac Lake in 1998. In 1999 we built our cabin on the shore of Moody Pond and our Adirondack life began. Like many of our neighbors, our children grew up together hiking Baker Mountain, and skating, canoeing, swimming and fishing in Moody Pond. It's truly a part of "us". It's been here for generations, and yet never grows old, because it's always changing. The sunrise, the fog, the turtles, the beaver, the loon, the wildflowers, the sunset...always here, always changing.
Now, the pond is changing like never before. Like so many Adirondack water bodies, Eurasian watermilfoil has found us. Discovered in 2018, by 2019 the weed had already invaded 14% of Moody Pond! It spreads fast, so we must act quickly. Moody Pond is challenging us.
My challenge is to sew a mask for each person that makes a donation of $25 or more to my campaign. All donations make a difference. Help us Save The Pond. And stay safe; wear a mask!
