This Giving Tuesday, you can help Hospitality House of Charlotte support the patients and families who stay with us through the holidays. The funds raised from this campaign will help provide a few of the things that make Hospitality House a Home Away from Home for the Holidays for patients and families in medical crisis.
By this time last year, our Volunteer Meal Calendar was filled by generous community members giving back for the holidays. Since this program was suspended due to COVID-19, those volunteers have found other ways to help and we cannot thank them enough. But we still want our House to feel like Home Away from Home for the Holidays to all the families who stay with us, and it's hard to feel festive without a feast. This year, a portion of the funds raised from #GivingTuesday on December 1st will be used to provide catered holiday dinners to our guests
The illnesses and injuries that our guests face do not take a break for the holiday season. Unfortunately, for many patients and caregivers this means spending the holidays away from home in order to be near the critical care they need. When you can't be home for the holidays, you need a place to stay that feels homey. With the help of our supporters, we are able to provide our guests with peaceful bedrooms to rest each night, comfortable living spaces to gather with family, and useful laundry facilities.
A lot of planning goes into traveling for the holidays - packing lists, mapped routes, reservations - and sometimes things get forgotten even with your best efforts. Now imagine doing all of that while rushing to an unfamiliar city to be by your loved one's side as they receive medically necessary treatment. From toothbrushes to transportation, Hospitality House does all we can to provide anything our guests might need by coordinating with local vendors and generous community members to secure much-needed amenities and supplies for our guests.
