Story

Over 7 years ago Renac Jean lost his job as a principal when he was wrongly accused of embezzling funds that had been misplace by the accountant. The community stood behind him and begged him to start his own school, even showing up with pick axes to help him clear the land. Over the the last 7 years he has never drawn a salary as principal for his school, because his school does not take in enough through tuition & he puts paying his employees first. To build this school he sold everything he had except his home and a china cabinet because it was too heavy and no one wanted to have it moved. He and his wife Remina and at the time their 2 children lived with almost nothing in an unfinished house. He is now head of a large extended family of 53 members that depend on him in many ways. In the last 6 years their family has grown to include 2 more biological children and 6 foster children that they have opened their home to in addition to their aging parents that are often very ill. They both have a love for children and such big hearts and can often be found visiting poor families and helping spread the gospel by giving food, comfort, & medical aid to needy families, as well as leading in their church, Renac as head elder & acting pastor and Remina in children's Sabbath School, Pathfinders, & women's ministry. In addition to all this burden Remina gave birth by c-section this past July and still is having complications from the delivery. Because of this she has missed much work and the clinic where she is a nurse has decided to let her go. They are outgrowing their crowded 6 room home ( 1 room we added on about 2 years ago) and because of it never being finished it is is suffering accelerated wear and tear. We would like to add on an additional room or two, repair the roof, finish the block walls with stucco, and grade the yard properly so the water doesn't keep flowing into the house when it rains. This is really necessary so the house will serve them for many years to come and for the health of the family.
