Organized by Hidden Acres Rescue for Thoroughbreds
Story
Midas is a 5-yo OTTB rescue who came to HART in December with instructions by the vet to remain on stall rest. Midas has extensive soft tissue injuries on his right front leg that mirrors arthritis in humans due to being over raced. Midas decided to take a joy-gallop through the neighborhood recently and, unfortunately, did further damage to his right front leg. Midas now needs arthroscopic surgery to remove the larger fragments in his leg and give him the best chance at being pain-free and a light riding partner (rather than just a pasture pet). Notoriously, pasture pets are extremely difficult to place. Please help us give him the best life we can.
The amazing surgical staff at Ocala Equine Hospital will be handling Midas' surgery. If you would prefer to donate directly to the hospital please call (352) 368-1616 (please identify 'Midas' by name).
