My profile picture was taken at my mom's 10 year anniversary of being cancer free. My mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in December 2007. A few months after my mom's diagnosis my dad was laid off of work due to the 2008 recession. We had just a few months to learn about breast cancer, treatment options and how to cope with my younger siblings and family. After my mom's diagnosis I researched breast cancer online and came across Susan G Komen's website. We actually visited the local office that was in the Ridgemar Mall in Fort Worth and they referred us to Cancer Care Services for emotional support. Cancer Care Services provided the emotional support we desperately needed and they provided the financial support necessary to get through this tough season in our lives. My mom's 10 year anniversary was a celebration of her strength, faith and resilience. This was also a time to reflect on the most difficult and stressful time we were able to overcome together with the help of family, medical professionals and Cancer Care Services. I am so proud proud to serve Cancer Care Services as a board member. Join me in supporting Cancer Care Services.
