The caring heart of arts organizations has been tested in 2020 because of COVID-19. This pandemic has taken so much from all of us, which makes this season of giving so important. The International Black Film Festival (IBFF) pushed through rough times like most non-profits and small businesses around the country. IBFF is here to serve, answering the vital needs of black and brown communities and embracing the importance of storytelling through film, TV, music, and technology. We are still here because we accept our role in providing a venue, platform, and ongoing programming for the next generation of filmmakers, directors, producers, writers, and content creators as a whole. We are still here because we value the connections and collaborations that have turned into real opportunities. We are still here because stories must be told, authentic voices heard, accurate images depicted. We are still here because artists stand at both the forefront of critical expression and cultural preservation. We are still here because we believe in hope, inspiration, education, and access.
