You know that one person you can always count on to make something happen? The person that will do whatever it takes to help anyone in need? I do. Her name is Melanie. She is a proud military mom, wife and grandma. Melanie is a true Ambassador for Our Community Cares and has volunteered with every fundraiser we have held. She and her husband Les live in Chatham and are now in a position where they could use us. Les was recently diagnosed with High Risk Prostate Cancer and they could use the community’s help to offset costs related to treatment and loss of income while they fight the good fight together. Accepting assistance is not easy for a giver, however Melanie knows it is “what we do” and is reluctantly accepting assistance.

Our Community Cares, Inc. was formed by a local group of concerned citizens who have stepped up to help those in need in the past. These have ranged from residents losing their homes to fire, illnesses, tragic accidents and financial hardships. The desire was to create a central organization that responded quickly and effectively to residents in need.
