The Waltham Boys & Girls Club is recognized as an area leader in providing life-changing programs for youth. The organization is guided by its mission “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”.

A growing number of Waltham households have found themselves balancing the costs of important needs such as housing and medical services with purchasing nutritionally adequate foods. Across the city, the percentage of families who are considered food insecure has increased dramatically during the pandemic, and is even higher than during the Great Recession. This has especially affected low-income families and youth of color.

Throughout its history, the Club has been able to expand and adapt to meet the growing needs of youth in the Waltham area. This has never been more evident than in the COVID-19 crisis. Thanks to the community’s support, the organization has pivoted its programming to provide over 61,000 free, healthy meals to hungry children and teenagers throughout the city since March 2020.

Located just five minutes from each other, Johnstone Supply and the Waltham Boys & Girls Club share more than just the same zip code. We share a common concern for our community’s youth and want them to have a healthy start in life.

This is why Johnstone Supply is coming to the aid of some of Waltham’s most vulnerable youth by conducting a campaign to raise $20,000 to purchase necessary supplies for the Club’s free dinner program and serve 4,000 nutritious meals to hungry children and teenagers.
