On The Rocks Festival 2019
Friday 7:00 AM - Saturday 7:00 PM EDT
It was in April 2009, when a group of determined students decided that the separate annual film and theatre festivals needed to be taken to the next level. These students combined the two festivals to create one larger event that by far surpassed the sophistication and diversity of the previous years' programs. This event was designed to showcase not only the best of drama and filmmaking in St Andrews, but furthermore to provide a platform to demonstrate the creativity and talent of artists, photographers, dancers, musicians and comedians. Thus, On The Rocks was born.
10 years later, On The Rocks continues to bring students and town members alike a brilliant program that showcases not only the talent within St Andrews, but beyond. We are proud to be the largest student-run arts festival in all of Scotland, dedicated to showcasing the amazing art, photography, film, theatre, dance, fashion, music, and comedy that our town and beyond has to offer. The festival hosts over 40 events annually, the majority sell-out performances. Such events have previously included the Sitara fashion show, a concert by the St Andrews Symphony Orchestra, a special performance of Macbeth at the St Andrews Castle, which was later brought to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and more. However, this is not possible without donations. Help us reach our goal of $7,775 so we can continue to provide the St Andrews community and many others with a greater sense of community an amazing opportunity to explore the arts and showcase the talents that lie in our small town.
