Now in its 28th year, Kid’s Cup has raised almost $1.9 million for Mayo Clinic Children’s Center and Olmsted Medical Center.

In the heart of Rochester, a city renowned for its dedication to health and well-being, children from all corners of the country gather. These young warriors, battling severe illnesses, find themselves confined to hospital rooms for months on end. Their journeys are filled with uncertainty, but also with incredible resilience and hope.

Contributions from Kid’s Cup transform these bleak hospital stays into experiences filled with care and comfort. By providing essential resources, we help ease the emotional and physical burdens these children and their families face. The generosity of our sponsors and fundraisers creates a nurturing environment where bravery is born, not just for the sick children but for their siblings and parents as they navigate the daunting road of life-threatening challenges together.

Kid’s Cup funds resources beyond the usual means—books, journals, cozy blankets, advanced neonatal tools, crucial ICU equipment, learning aids, iPads, toys, exciting field trips, memorable events, engaging games, and various activities that bring joy and a sense of normalcy to their lives. Your support makes these extraordinary moments possible, turning hardship into hope and isolation into a community of care.

What began in 1997 as the Miracle Marathon, has evolved over the past two and a half decades into the Kid's Cup Golf Tournament. Starting with a simple, straightforward donation of $10,000 to the Miracle Marathon, Mark and Sheryl Tasler, Express Employment Professionals franchise owners, saw their donation grow exponentially when they began the fund-raising golf tournament. The Express Employment Professionals team has managed the tournament for 25 years raising over $1.7 million supporting programs at Olmsted Medical Center and Mayo Clinic Children’s Center, benefitting children with challenging health journeys.

In 2022, Gillette Pepsi (GPC) stepped in to take the lead role as presenting sponsor to continue the incredible legacy begun by the Express team. A group of GPC employees, as well as a few individuals from Mayo Clinic and Olmsted Medical Center, plan and coordinate the tournament each year. The charity raises money through golfer fundraising with each golfer raising a minimum of $500 to play in the tournament held at Somerby Golf Club. The cost of the tournament is underwritten by generous corporate sponsors with all funds raised by golfers going directly to the kids. Rochester Area Foundation is our fiscal sponsor allowing us to operate under their 501c3 umbrella.
