As a new Development Officer for The Place, the NIGHT OUT Project is dear to me. It will be the first project I get to plan and implement for this wonderful organization and it could not come at a more crucial time. COVID-19 has affected us all - my family has suffered from job loss and illness personally - but I cannot imagine being a youth experiencing homelessness during this time!

A recent study by the Journal of Adolescent Health found that, since the onset of COVID: 

• 54% of youth say it has become harder to get enough food to eat
• 29% of youth say it has become harder to find a safe place to spend the night
• 44% of youth say it has become harder to find mental health services

The Place is here to meet the needs listed above. We are here to feed, shelter, and get mental and physical health care  for youths experiencing homelessness in Colorado Springs, but we can't do it without your help.
