As a founding member, the Performing Arts Initiative is near and dear to my heart. I personally engaged in the performing arts through piano, violin and singing as a young child and through college. When I began focusing on my career, I shifted from performing to appreciating the performance of others. This love for the performing arts was enhanced while I lived in several large west coast cities and then in the Oregon coastal town of Newport. Now in the Columbia River Gorge, I am so aware and grateful for our local performing arts community.

Hood River - where we hope to build a state-of-the-art performing arts center - has so much to offer: the stunning beauty of the Columbia River Gorge, bountiful fruit-based agriculture, extreme outdoor sports, and high-tech industry. The vision of the Performing Arts Initiative is one I fully support - to enhance these community features and the area economy by expanding our existing passion for the performing arts and providing a place for our community to gather.
