Hey Family and Friends!
Happy Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is the holiday that kicks off the season of giving to local nonprofits and community-based organizations.
As you may know, I am the Executive Director of the “premier” social services organization in Hamilton, NJ, called the John O. Wilson Hamilton Neighborhood Center, Inc.
Year round, we work to feed the hungry, develop simulating activities to engage our seniors, provide summer camp programming for our youth, help families to avoid homelessness, facilitate programs and services that build stronger individuals and provide resources to those impacted by COVID-19.
Like most nonprofits, we do a tremendous amount of work and we change the lives of those who need us most. However, our budget never seems to be enough to meet the needs.
We recently fed over 225 families for Thanksgiving and now are preparing to spend thousands of dollars to provide Christmas gifts to hundreds of low-income students at the nearby elementary school. So, I’m asking for your help!
Please join me as I pledge to raise $1,000 to support the men, women and children that walk through doors of my center everyday. Many of their stories are unbelievable and for many, we are their last hope.
As I close this plea, I just want to say, if you know me, you know that this my passion and my heart is of service to the community. The community needs me and it need you! For I know, “there but for the grace of God, go I.” Meaning, I too like someone seen to have suffered misfortune, might have suffered a similar fate, but for God’s mercy.”
So, please give to the Wilson Center, support the work that I do for families and make a difference in the life of someone who needs you this holiday season! Every dollar helps. Thanking you in advance and enjoy your holidays!
