This Fall, from September 29th through October 2nd, I had planned to be one of over 150 cyclists embarking on Ride Allegheny, a 310-mile trek from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC, to raise money for Operation Second Chance. I think this would have been my 7th Ride Allegheny event. Unfortunately, I was injured in late June while training on a mountain bike trail here in North Texas and broke my back along with other bones I won't bore you with because none of this matters. What matters, regardless of my absence this year, is that we hope to continue Ride Allegheny’s track record of success as we aim to raise more than $700,000 for Operation Second Chance and the tremendous work they do.
The incredible support Operation Second Chance provides to our service men and women and their families in their greatest time of need is awe-inspiring. I encourage you to take a moment to learn more about Operation Second Chance by clicking here. OSCs founder, Cindy McGrew, sums it up best when stating:
"While the wars overseas may be winding down, the war is never over for these wounded soldiers and marines."
Thank you to those who have already given so generously. Your donation may be tax-deductible, and any size contribution is extremely appreciated!
