I have been a member of the Berkeley Heights YMCA for more than 20 years. My family joined when my kids were little, and we have come to feel it is our second home. The Berkeley Heights YMCA really is a special place to us; it was the first place I felt comfortable leaving my girls in “babysitting” so I could take a much needed exercise class, the first mommy and me classes, the first indoor soccer classes, my daughter’s first real job, and my first Pilates class which changed my life and friendships forever.
When the pandemic hit, and the YMCA and all other gyms had to close, a group of Y- members, I call Y-walkers, needed to do some exercising on our own, see and support each other, and so we organized the Y-Walkers and started walkingat least once a week. The Y-Walkers group has been the key for me to get through this pandemic!
And that is just how the Berkeley Heights YMCA has impacted me…
The Berkeley Heights YMCA offers many programs to our community and those in need and is benefiting many other families. I am constantly impressed by the dedication, warmth and compassion of the Y’s leadership and staff. I hope you will join me in supporting this hidden gem of our community.
