I'm committed to Safe Crossings Foundation because I believe in the programs that we fund and the positive impact that they make for kids and families.
As you may know, my dad died when I was a little girl. I was seven years old and my two younger brothers were 5 years old and six months old. Over the years, we received support from our mom, our family members and family friends, from our teachers, camp counselors, from professional counselors and more.
But, as I grew up I always wished that I could have been more connected to other kids who had been through a loss like I had.
Fast forward 31 years and I've been on the board of SCF for about seven years. My son, Walter, was born in February and now, more than ever, I understand how the death of my father impacted me and my family.
I feel lucky to have had so much love and support over the years and I would like to provide that same love and support to all families who have lost a parent or a child.
