Hello!
I sincerely hope you can join me at the first (exciting!) virtual luncheon for Safe Crossings foundation on October 27th. Safe Crossings foundation helps provide grief counseling for kids who have suffered loss in their life in the greater Seattle area of Washington state. These services are invaluable. Over 1,000 children have benefited from the services that Safe Crossings support and provide this last year. Our aim is to ensure every child in the region that suffers a loss can have access to free support to help them.
This event is our biggest yearly fundraiser and these donations make a real difference. For example, a $50 gift can support Crisis connection phone mentoring for a single family, a $500 gift can support up to 5 families in our Forefront Cares package, and a $2,500 donation can send 10 kids to Camp Erin - a transformative experience for kids to connect with other kids who share similar loss.
In 2009 Safe Crossings came into my life as incredible and indispensable support for my family during the illness, and eventual passing of my wife, Jeni Abercrombie. The services that Safe Crossings provided became the foundation for growth of our two daughters, Rita and Zola (aged 3 and 5 at the time), ever since.
I have been fortunate to have been able to join the Safe Crossings foundation since 2018 as a Board Member, and to work to ensure that all kids who are exposed to grief in the Pacific North West have an opportunity to receive grief support services, just like Rita and Zola did (and here we are in London during the holidays last year!).
I'm looking forward very much to seeing you at this event! If you can't make it then please consider making a donation in support of the foundation.
Lee
