Story

In October, I am raising $10,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, running over 100 training miles, and completing my first marathon in honor of my grandmother, Sandy Thomas.

Here’s WHY:

A lot of people have asked me why I chose philanthropy as my career path after founding the non-profit, Brawl for a Cause when I was 21. I’ve heard assertions like I could be making more money or have more prestige in other jobs, and I’ve heard questions like, “philanthropy is for old, rich people, right?”

Wrong. Working to make the world a better place is accessible to those of all ages, which I learned from my grandmother. After she passed when I was six years old, I took my first philanthropic action going door to door during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise money in her honor.

This October, I am doing the same thing that I did when I was six, but I’ll be running around Atlanta, instead of just my neighborhood. My goal is to raise $10,000 in her name, and I need your help!

My GOALs:

Raise $10,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation via projectZERO

Run over 100 training miles in the month of October

Run and complete my first marathon
