There is a group of people who have no where to go but the street or abandoned buildings. The Morrow Warming Center was an emergency low barrier place for people to rest. We feed and shelter and provide a social environment that we do our best to maintain as a safe place. After no longer having funding and also no longer having a staff, we cannot keep doing this without financial help. We also want people to understand the challenges of being homeless, addicted, mentally challenged, and traumatized. In this challenge people can include their children and we will have resources to help them understand. If you become a team member, you can raise funds and your children can raise funds to help vulnerable people in our community.
#1 REGISTER Sign up and we will send you some tools to help you prepare. The Sleep OUT date is August 26
#2 FORM A TEAM AND INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! Friends care about what you care about. Ask them to donate per hour or night. Decide if you are going to go without food, sleep outside, sleep inside, use blankets or not, and tell your friends what your plans are.
#3 POST AND SHARE You can share with the #housednothidden and let your friends know your plan for sleeping. Make up a song or a poem about homelessness or a video. Maybe have a collection for shoes or tshirts to go along with your fundraising. Share your ideas and what you are doing to bring awareness to the issue.
#4 SLEEP OUT!!!! On August 26, do your sleep over. Do you have a group of friends you'd like to sleep out together with? Do some live streaming at night about your thoughts.
We will have prizes for creativity, amount raised, most team members, story videos, and more.
