There is little data about the effects of extreme climbs on a T1D athlete. This latest project by T1Determined will change that.
Joseph Anthony Marcello was suddenly diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes at the age of 21. An avid mountaineer, through this documentary and podcast he’s building a community while pursuing acclaimed peaks. He is T1Determined.
This documentary film, Low Blood Sugar at High Altitude, follows Joseph’s journey as he prepares to scale Denali. His ambition is a direct challenge to his T1D condition, and without accurate and continuous blood sugar monitoring his life is at stake.
"I want to make a film in which others can learn and discover that they are not alone. To see it on the big screen means it is a reality. In a world with advancing technology in diabetes management, there's so much yet to be discovered.I want viewers to be astonished, inspired, and thrilled about their own aspirations after watching this.” - Joseph Marcello
Your support will help us raise the $200,000 needed to create a powerful film that not only delivers vital data to those struggling with diabetes but also motivates and uplifts audiences around the world.
