I have felt so privileged to work at the YWCA, and I'm incredibly grateful to be surrounded by some of the most passionate, tenacious individuals I have ever met. I've seen firsthand the impact that our work has on those we serve, including the ripple effect we have had on folks that have never known about us before.
We have risen to the occasion in so many ways over the past year as we underwent leadership transition, a global pandemic, national reckoning with race and racism, and an uptick in instances of domestic violence in our state.
All of this, while we navigated immense funding uncertainty. We have lost critical funding necessary to our work, much of which is a direct result of policy and funding decisions made without the well-being of survivors in mind.
We serve the most densely populated region in our state, and yet, we've lost federal funding that is earmarked to support that critical work. We are central to the social infrastructure of Salt Lake City, and a fierce advocate for all Utahns through our policy advocacy, and yet, we have been deprioritized by both our state and city governments.
We find ourselves at a great crossroads as our work becomes more central, critical, and visible than ever, all while the funds we rely on to do this work become more scarce. That's where you come in.
Help me raise critical funds for the YWCA, so we can continue the work we've done for 115 years in Utah. We're Stronger Together.
