NAMI-Finger Lakes is the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).  

In 1986, our founder, Jean Walters, of Ithaca, NY, welcomed families to her home for support and education about mental illness.

Since our founding NAMI Finger Lakes has grown roots further into our communities bringing NAMI Signature Programs taught by volunteers with lived experience to others in need of support and belonging.  As a result, we’re very familiar with local human services for people experiencing and living in recovery from mental illnesses to aid families, partners and friends in support of their loved one. Self-care for those supporting a loved one is an essential part of NAMI. Knowing You Are Not Alone happens locally because of donations from people like you.
