Anointing Grace Redeemer "Wanda's Creative Corner"

Just imagine seeing the excitement on the children's faces when they walk in to a beautiful classroom and a safe space to create.

Anointed Grace Redeemer Prep is an incredible school in Elmina, Ghana with a powerful mission to educate and inspire the creative spirit of it's middle school students.

When we visited the school, we couldn't help but notice dilapidated unfinished structures, dangerous safety conditions, and half built classrooms. Yet, the children were excited about learning, captivated with the books that we donated, and so excited to share their love of performance and fashion.

At that moment, I felt led to offer to finish a classroom. I also want to honor my sister, Wanda.

We are spreading the beautiful, loving spirit of Wanda Simmons, the co-founder of the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival (ABTF), into a legacy.

"Wanda's Creative Corner" will be a safe space for children to create beauty however they feel inspired.

In 2022 two months before we were scheduled to visit Ghana, Wanda was diagnosed with cancer and could not join the pilgrimage. Our prayer is that Wanda will cut the ribbon in 2023.

The cost of construction is $3,000, and the cost of furniture and supplies is $2,000. Every bit donated will help us reach our goal.

Thank you!
