Acres for Life provides life-changing therapy during a time where a mental health crisis is affecting children, adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, conduct disorder, PTSD, abandonment, grief and loss, anger, and self harm.

The Acres Team shows up with the intention and ability to serve those in need through proven techniques provided in a non-threatening and healing environment surrounded by nature and animals.

At Acres, we implement the research-informed Arenas for Change (ARCH) approach and SEEN framework in our services, a strengths-based approach within a story structure. Client sessions are co-facilitated by a team of licensed Mental Health Therapists and Equine Specialists working with the horses to empower individuals to become authors of their own stories. Horses, nature and other animals serve as characters, witnesses, and story editors, impacting stories and providing new perspectives.

In our sessions, horses provide unique opportunities for relationship-building and connection. This natural bond has a profound impact on healing trauma, as individuals often find it easier to trust and connect with animals, especially if they have experienced harm from other humans. This trust in turn fosters an environment of psychological safety, allowing untold stories to surface and healing to begin.
