The Amaro Literacy Mission, founded by Jessica Amaro, the owner of Amaro Group Services and Publishing, is committed to transforming lives through books and education. This mission is powered not only by Jessica's vision but also by the instrumental efforts of her husband, Eddie Amaro.

Jessica and Eddie, Partners in Literacy, are the driving force behind this mission. Jessica's vision brought the Amaro Literacy Mission to life, but it is the dynamic partnership with Eddie Amaro that has allowed the mission to scale new heights. Together, they are a formidable team dedicated to the cause of literacy and its power to bridge communities.

In 2023, we embarked on an ambitious goal to collect books for schools and communities in South Africa, and thanks to generous donors like you, they made significant progress along with 25 U.S volunteers.

Throughout our journey, we have encountered challenges, but the unwavering commitment of Jessica and Eddie, along with your support, keeps us moving forward.

Jessica's personal journey to Johannesburg, South Africa, was the seed that led to the creation of the Amaro Literacy Mission. She was inspired by the work being done to end illiteracy and realized the profound impact of providing books to African children. Witnessing the lack of access to books in South Africa, she knew that helping South Africa with America's overflow would be her life's work.
