Hello all!
My name is Sara Beth Foskey and I am a Yoga Teacher and Trainer at The Training Room in Atlanta GA. I am brawling at this years Brawl for a Cause event on May 2nd in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
My Why...
This foundation is near and dear to my heart because of my God Father, Walter Wysocki (Wally Pop), my second dad. He is a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and fierce friend to many. His strength motivates me to fight hard to raise money and train hard to fight in the ring. Because of the research that this foundation funds and amazing research scientists, a series of clinical trials have tested an experimental treatment for Parkinson's that uses a novel approach: administering the drug straight into the brain via implanted ports. The leading researchers believe this may be a "breakthrough" therapeutic strategy for neurological conditions. This is a huge leap in the fight to lessen the daunting affects this disease has on an individual, but ultimately the goal is to find a cure. Any dollar that you can spare could be the funds needed to reach that goal.
My goal is to raise 5,000+ for MJFF
How will your donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation make a difference for those 6 Million souls living with this disease worldwide? MJFF-funded investigations have resulted in more than 20 early-stage therapeutic programs such as Rock Steady Boxing -- a boxing program designed for people with Parkinson's. MJFF spearheads their own key initiatives to advance understanding and treatment of Parkinson's disease. Here are a few...

Training Next Generation of Specialists
The Foundation is leading programs to seed the next generation of movement disorder specialists, of whom there are too few to treat the growing number of people with Parkinson's.
Ultimately (MJFF) exists to accelerate the next generation of Parkinson’s disease treatments and find a cure.
