I am a mother of two Black teenage boys, and I understand the difficulties teenagers face today, especially after the COVID pandemic. In my hometown of Hamilton, NJ, I noticed no safe spaces for teens to hang out and relax. Brooklyn Teens Lounge is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable place for teenagers to socialize, learn, and grow.

Brooklyn Teens Lounge has been established to
provide teenagers with an optimistic environment to address the numerous issues affecting their
psychological, emotional, physical, and social well-being and growth by offering a space to hang
out, leadership and community engagement opportunities, supportive adults, and simply the
chance to be themselves. The usual spots for teens, such as malls, convenience stores, and street
corners, do not promote a sense of community, competence, or usefulness among teenagers and
are highly judgmental. Let's create a better future for our youth.
