Story
Redefining. It sounds so much better than "pivot," doesn't it? We're not just pivoting left, pivoting right. We're moving forward.
300,000 children in Chicago had little to no access to opportunity before the pandemic hit. That will only get worse as the full impact of the pandemic is felt in our schools, in our economy and in our social services budgets.
Beat the Streets Chicago is committed to providing opportunity to as many youth as we can reach. And we've got a plan...we just need your help.
We're redefining everything we do to empower Chicago Youth. We're doubling down on our mentoring and tutoring. We're providing BOTH safe, in-person workouts and virtual online workouts. We're doing all the things wrestlers do: commit, work hard, choose to get better. Train like a Life Champion.
We're also redefining the wrestling home for Chicago youth. We've purchased a facility in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood and are building it out even now to be a state of the art training and enrichment center for our families. We expect it to open by year-end. Our BTSC facility will offer not just low- and no-cost after school programming, but weekend, school break and summer opportunities as well. With the pandemic upending life at schools across the region, we're grateful that our wrestlers will have a place of their own.
Redefining. We're redefining our organization as well: operating a facility is new for us, and it's going to cost some money. This #GivingTuesday we ask you to consider a contribution that will help us keep the lights on (and the heat, and the brand-new ventilation system!) during these early months. The faster we open the doors, the more wrestlers we can serve.
Redefine what it means to give: consider our monthly giving option. Let us know we can count on you all year long.
Thank you. Thank you for supporting these inspiring young people, working hard to become Life Champions.
