Grandma Pat fought Alzheimer's disease for 16 years. As I grew up, I watched her fade away until there was nothing left. I don't remember her famous cooking, her beautiful singing, or her grandma hugs because Alzheimer's took her away from us far too soon.
Unfortunately, my story is not unique. More than 6 million people in the U.S. are living with Alzheimer's. And this disease has the greatest impact on women - 2/3 of Americans with Alzheimer's are women and over 60% of all dementia caregivers are women.
I'm taking the field for my 7th year to help tackle this disease! I started out playing in memory of my grandma, but after 5 years on the team in Minneapolis and working 4 years at the Alzheimer's Association, I now play for the hundreds of families and friends I've met across the country.
Please help me reach my goal of $1,300 - whether you can give $5 or $500, THANK YOU for tackling Alzheimer's with me!
