Moose’s Flock founder Jenna recently had the pleasure of traveling to the UK to attend a pigeon advocacy conference. While there she picked up 4 Leicester Pigeon JellyCats from Selfridges. For those of you who are not aware, JellyCat plushies are highly sought after, in particular the exclusive editions. The exclusive Leicester Pigeon is only available at Selfridges in London.

These 4 JellyCat Leicester Pigeon plushies are now available for auction. All proceeds will benefit Moose’s Flock Pigeon & Dove Rescue. Additionally, the winning bid from each JellyCat will go directly toward the medical needs pigeon pictured. Shipping within the continental US is included. Original tags remain on the plushies.

Moose’s Flock Pigeon and Dove Rescue technically began when a little lost ringneck dove showed up in the backyard of founder Jenna Close. She fell in love, built him an aviary and adopted him a mate. A couple of years later two lost racing pigeons also arrived. It was at this time that Jenna adopted a giant brown pigeon named Moose. Unknown to anyone, Moose was very ill with a disease called mycobacteriosis. This diagnosis often results in humane euthanasia because of the cost, time and risk involved in treating it. Jenna and her vet, Dr. G, decided to treat Moose. For the next year and a half Moose was medicated 4x a day. He quickly became a different bird – full of spunk and personality and energy. A couple of months after completing treatment, Moose passed away. Even so, giving him that year and a half of joy and love and health was worth it. In the midst of heartbreak, Jenna decided she would one day start a rescue in honor of Moose’s legacy. That's exactly what she did. Welcome to Moose’s Flock.
