CASP, a local nonprofit, provides free 1:1 literacy tutoring to students in K-5th grade reading below grade level whose families have limited financial resources. Utilizing a research and evidence-based curriculum, UFLI Foundations, our program is designed to assess and address each student’s specific literacy needs.

CASP offers tutoring in partnership with various community agencies and organizations in Cleveland County, as well as at its administrative offices in Norman. Students are assessed by CASP personnel and all tutoring materials are provided by CASP. Students meet with trained volunteer tutors in a safe, supervised environment for 45 minutes, 2 times/week. This individualized approach allows the tutor to focus on the student's literacy deficits, allowing them to gain confidence and improve literacy skills as they master each new lesson.
