Ari Jones is senior dual degree B.S/M.S Candidate in Neuroscience. Ari was active duty in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He currently serves in the Navy Reserves while he finishes his degree. He is involved in the NAACP on campus serving as the President. He plans on attending medical school thereafter and then serving as a full time Military Physician.
What does giving mean to you?
Giving means giving experience, time, patience, knowledge and of course materialistic things. I give with the intent of not receiving. I give because It is my duty to give what was given to me. This allows me to be a blessing to another person and to uplift my colleagues.
Who in your life most inspires you and why?
My mom, she has shown what persistence and resilience can result in.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
To continue to strive for my dreams.
What is your greatest achievement to date?
Going the Navy.
Tell us more about your involvement with the NAACP.
Being involved in the NAACP has allowed me to connect with so many different students. Provide them with a safe place to communicate and express themselves. It has allowed me to be a beacon for change and to use this platform in a powerful way. I hope that moving forward I can continue to inspire and connect to so many people.
