CornerstoneMD Cares was born out of compassion and vision. As the founder of CornerstoneMD Primary Clinic, Dr. Louis J. Gilbert witnessed firsthand the growing disparities in health and wellness across underserved communities. From limited access to care and poor health literacy to rising rates of food insecurity and mental health challenges, the gaps were clear—and so was the need for action.

In response, Dr. Gilbert established CornerstoneMD Cares Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to building healthy communities through access, education, and empowerment. With the support of generous donors, volunteers, and community partners, we’ve launched initiatives that target five critical areas:

Access to Care – Providing essential medical services and connecting individuals with affordable, quality healthcare.
Health Literacy – Equipping communities with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their health.
Food Insecurity – Offering food distribution and nutritional resources to combat hunger and promote wellness.
Physical Fitness – Promoting movement and physical activity through community programs that encourage active living.
Mental, Spiritual, and Emotional Health – Supporting the whole person with initiatives that address mental wellness, spiritual grounding, and emotional resilience.
