PAT's CUBs is a four-week summer camp focused on literacy. Students in the program receive small group reading instruction daily. They also receive extensive group instruction in math, review of content through technology integration, and recreational activity that focuses on fine-tuning social skills. In addition to these daily small group activities, students receive complimentary breakfast and lunch.

PAT's CUBs was founded to combat a problem commonly known by those who work in education as the "Summer Slide." The "Summer Slide" is the loss of academic skills and knowledge during summer vacation.

The loss in learning varies across grade levels, subject matter, and family income. However, studies show that students needing help to learn to read are at an even greater risk of losing their skill set over the summer.
