11th Annual Da Yooper Plunge 2021

January 1, 2021 marks the 11th Annual Da Yooper Plunge, now re-branded to Da Yooper Winterfest to be inclusive of all of the festival events! This event has grown from a grass-roots effort with a handful of brave plungers raising funds for River Cities Community Pool to a family-oriented, winter festival that draws hundreds of community members and now has multiple winter-themed events and activities.

This year’s event will look somewhat different, because, let's face it, our WORLD is different right now, but this year more than ever, The River Cities Community Pool and the DAR Boys & Girls Club NEED your help! This year in an effort to keep our community safe and socially distanced we will have a Virtual/Remote Yooper Plunge and forgo the annual outhouse races and chili cook-off. We will hold a Virtual warm water plunge on January 1st at River Cities Community Pool, where teams can still raise money and plunge but we we will also be promoting people to film and send in their remote plunges! In addition to the day of, the 3rd Annual Da Santa Speedo 5k Run will take place on December 12, 2020. We look forward to many event participants via virtual or scheduled warm water plunges this year. The combined festivities last year raised over $49,100 for community activities. Over the past 10 years, we are thrilled to announce that we have raised an aggregate of over $422,000.

We thank you for your previous support of this event at the Hypothermic level in the amount of $1000. We hope that you will commit to the same level or higher for the 11th Year Anniversary!

All funds raised benefit two local, family-oriented organizations: the River Cities Community Pool Association and the DAR Boys and Girls Club. The event is a registered 501c3 and is organized by a volunteer committee in a further effort to minimize event expenses and maximize the financial impact to the beneficiaries.

In addition to supporting via sponsorship, you can also support by participating! Build a team to plunge, plunge teams will be given a scheduled time to come and take the plunge at RCCP or can film their team plunge elsewhere and send it in. This is a fun and morale-boosting teambuilding event.
