Dream Detroit Skating Club was founded to create space and opportunity for youth of color to thrive in figure skating, a sport where they are often underrepresented. Inspired by the belief that talent knows no boundaries, we set out to break down barriers, build community, and make the ice a more inclusive and empowering place for all.

Since our launch in January 2022, Dream Detroit Skating Club has introduced the joy and discipline of figure skating to more than 250 youth across the Detroit Metropolitan Area. We are proud to be the city’s first and only figure skating club dedicated to creating access and opportunity for young skaters who might not otherwise have the chance to step onto the ice.

Through professional coaching, mentorship, and community support, our skaters gain more than skating skills—they build confidence, resilience, and friendships that last beyond the rink. By breaking down financial and cultural barriers, we’re opening doors for Detroit youth to thrive in a sport that teaches dedication, creativity, and teamwork.

At Dream Detroit, we believe every child deserves the chance to dream big and glide toward success—on and off the ice.
