Since its inception in 1991, San Jose Ethiopian Community Services has not only provided health, education, and social support services to the community, but has been a champion for the mobilization of Ethiopians living in the South Bay.

Despite facing numerous financial, administrative, and operational challenges over the past 29 years, the relentless dedication of a few volunteers and various government/private organizations has kept our beloved association alive.

Unfortunately, in recent years, reoccurring financial support from such organizations has declined significantly. To complicate matters even more, the most influential questions when applying for funding are the number of permanent functioning supporters and their financial contributions.

To meet the critical demand of donors and build the association with a strong foundation of our own Ethiopians, we’re rallying community members and encouraging those who are able to register as permanent supporters with a contribution of at least $10.00 a month.

We understand times are trying, however this is why the Ethiopian Community Services is needed now more than ever. Your support is an investment into the growth and prosperity of San Jose’s Ethiopian Community, now and in the future. If we do not endorse ourselves, no one will.
