The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter at Fairmont State University is a student-led organization that bridges classroom learning with real-world application. Our members participate in regional and national conventions and competitions, including concrete canoe, steel bridge, geotechnical design, and more — developing essential skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and project execution.

In 2025, our chapter earned top placements at the Virginias ASCE Student Symposium, including 1st in Geotechnical Design, 2nd in Concrete Canoe, and 2nd in Balsa Wood Bridge, with zero rule deductions across all events — a testament to our students' dedication and professionalism.

We rely on community support and fundraising to cover the costs of materials, travel, registration, and educational outreach. Every contribution helps us grow the next generation of civil engineers ready to build a better world.
